The 7th grade class at St. Agnes Academy in Key Biscayne recognized Respect Life Month by participating in an ICU baby service project. Forty students made keychains for 100 NICU families at Baptist Health System’s South Miami Hospital and Holtz Children’s Hospital at UM/Jackson Memorial Medical Center in honor of World Prematurity Day on November 21st.
The students also wrapped 50 ICU baby bears for NICU siblings. ICU baby recognizes how scary the NICU can be, especially for young siblings. Having a bear to hug when they can’t visit their baby brother or sister can brighten a child’s day.
