April is National Volunteer Appreciation Month, dedicated to honoring the significant contributions volunteers make everyday and especially during these difficult times. This month has always been very special for ICU baby as we would not be able to carry out our mission without our incredible volunteers. Given social distancing, this year ICU baby hosted a virtual appreciation hour to thank our in-hospital volunteers for their commitment, dedication and kindness as well as flexibility with adapting to our new temporary programs!
ICU baby also wants to thank UPS, Kohl’s, Microsoft, Comcast and Chamberlain University for offering to partner with ICU baby on volunteer events this month. While they could not move forward because of COVID-19 precautions, the offer of partnership demonstrated a continued to commitment to our NICU community that is invaluable especially considering the unusual circumstances..
