The holidays are an especially difficult time for families whose baby is in the NICU and not at home to celebrate with them. To help lift the spirits of NICU parents, ICU baby hosted special Supper of Support dinners in December at South Miami and Holtz Children’s Hospitals. The Junior League of Miami Dade decorated beautiful holiday candles for families. Again this year, families at McGlannon School donated 87 toys and gift cards for the siblings of the NICU babies. Thank you to our local “Secret Santas” for spreading hope and holiday cheer.
ICU baby also celebrated Thanksgiving with NICU families at both hospitals. At South Miami Hospital, the dinner was the night before Thanksgiving and for many, it was their only Thanksgiving meal. Even during such a difficult journey, the NICU families found many reasons to be grateful, most especially for their new baby.
