Car parade celebrations have defined the happier days of 2020. The ICU baby Team was thrilled when former NICU Mom, Monica Babich, suggested to incorporate this trend in ICU baby’s World Prematurity Day celebration.

Families of South Miami Hospital’s admitted NICU babies, nursing staff and administrators came outside to watch the parade led by the ICU baby Youth Ambassadors, ICU baby’s tele-support volunteers, and Monica and her former NICU baby, Elara. NICU parents received special gifts and were treated to a bagged lunch from The Daily. Cars were decorated and signs were made by the Youth Ambassadors sharing their NICU experience.

There was not a dry eye as former and current families alike came together to celebrate a very special World Prematurity Day in our COVID-19 world.
