ICU baby recognizes that the time a family spends in the NICU visiting their baby can be lonely, confusing and scary, at times. ICU baby has a team of volunteers that are pre-screened by the hospital to enter the NICU to provide parent-to-parent support at the baby’s bedside.
ICU baby’s in-hospital volunteers have had a baby in the NICU themselves or have experience in a NICU. They can empathize with what the NICU parent is going through and provide support. The ICU baby team listens, offers comfort and can direct the NICU parent to resources in the hospital or community that might benefit them during their NICU stay.
